August 28, 2007

Officers Present: Charles Lin, Yuzhi Zheng, Michael Wachenschwanz, Daiwei Li, Edward Lu, John Chai, Aashish Sreedharan, Toshitaka Tachibana, Manisha Vashishta, David Liu, Andrew Su

The meeting was called to order at 7:06 pm.
 

Hey Everyone,

These are topics we discussed in this meeting.

• Old Business
  • Concours D'Elegance: We earned $909.09
• New Business
  • Recruitment for upcoming year:
    • We'll be making posters this friday. Michael is in charge of this.
    • We'll be ordering 250 2.25 in buttons based on Yuzhi's design.
    • The flyer with the registration form is being made.
    • We may have a demo of our robots in the quad.
  • WRRF Workshop: It's on September 15th for most of the day; John or Manisha will be in charge of this event.
  • Music Show Fundraiser: This was a rock show where we would sell concessions, but we decided not to do this.
  • Fleetweek:
    • On October 6th - 7th.
    • Get to keep 10% of sales.
    • Pretty cool stuff there like airshows.
    • Michael is in charge.
• CalGames
  • On October 13th.
  • Our first competiton of the year; We'll be playing last years game, Rack n' Roll.
  • We need volunteers for the 12th to help set up.
  • Yuzhi's in charge of this.
• T-Shirts: Michael is in charge of this, and he'll be accepting desings for it soon.
• Officer Reports:
  • Daiwei: We have $5000 to start this year off.
  • David:
    • The EscargoBot has a broken which needs to be fixed.
    • Miller Robotics:
      • Starts next monday.
      • September 24th we may give them a lecture.
      • They have signed up for FLL and thier first competition is in November.
  • John Chai:
    • Planning on making projects and classes.
  • Manisha:
    • Sony Grant will be started soon.
• Open Floor Discussion:
  • Active Member Requirements:
    • Dues have to be paid.
    • Must attend at least 3 events.
    • Must go to atleast 5 of the build season days.
    • Must attend at least 3 meetings a month.
  • Reminder:
    • First Club Meeting next Wednesday in Mr. Peck's Room, Room 605.
