Calder Academy Volunteering

Our team will be volunteering at Calder Academy this summer to help teach a robotics class. The academy is located on De Anza Boulevard. Activities include:
  • Circuitry
  • Programming
  • Building small robotics kits (mini solar powered cars)
  • VEX robotics
  • LEGO NXT Mindstorms.
  • We might give a lesson with our iRobot Create!
General experience related to these activities would be helpful, but you should be able to quickly learn how to guide the students, who are middle school kids.
The classes will take place weekdays from 9AM to 6PM all summer. You don't have to make a time commitment, but it'd be best if you went on a regular schedule.
Community outreach has been a important aspect of our robotics team and we would like to continue our volunteer activities. Volunteering is not only beneficial towards the team but also an opportunity to learn valuable skills such as teamwork, public speaking, and networking.

If you would like to participate or have questions, please reply to presidents@lynbrookrobotics.com. You can start anytime!
